Health Tips for Dogs

There are many health advantages to owning a pet. They lower your blood pressure. You are 8 times more likely to live after a serious illness. They block chronic pain. Pet owners take fewer medications; see the doctor less and hospital stays are shorter. Some dogs can smell disease and have been trained to key in on the issue. I pay attention when my dog starts to smell a new area on me, family member or another animal buddy.

Animals mask their illnesses. Why? In the real world what isn’t healthy becomes prey. If you notice your dog drinking more water that is one indicator of poor health. If your pet sheds more, stools are softer or have mucus, if you notice any new lumps and if a wound won’t heal, are all indicators of poor health. Do the once a week pet check to be aware of changes. Your dog’s temperature should range from 100 to 103 degrees and you can check it easily with an ear thermometer. Washing your hands before and after playing with your pet will achieve a cleaner lifestyle for both you and your pet.

Dog Obedience Training Information

Owning a dog is a big responsibility. You want to make sure you know as much about obedience training as possible before you bring your dog home for the first time. Fortunately, there is a lot of dog obedience training information available online. That being said, you have to be selective as to what you learn and the order in which you pick up information. In other words, learn as much as you can about what you consider to be important and then go forward from there.

When it comes to dog obedience training most people think about one thing: housebreaking their dog. This is something you cannot afford to overlook. Once your dog is housebroken you have overcome a major detail. There is nothing better than watching your dog go to the door. As you probably know, this is much better than it going on the floor!

Your Dog’s Commercial Food

The ingredient list may read something like this” Cereals, animal derivatives, vegetable derivatives . . . ” so it is impossible to know what is in it.I am often asked to describe what exactly is wrong with the “normal” pet foods. Even when it is apparent from the health of the pet, it may be difficult to say what it is about the food which makes it unsuitable. Unlike for human food the law allows ingredient listing on pet food to be generic. Why are manufacturers so vague? There’s five reasons that come to mind.First, if you knew precisely what you were feeding your pet you would not buy the product.( Commercial Dog Food ) !

The second reason is that this vague wording allows the manufacturer to alter the ingredients without having to alter the labeling. Why would a manufacturer require to alter the recipe? Because massive manufacturers are constantly on the lookout for cheap ingredients and it is more profitable to purchase whatever happens to be available than to stick to the same recipe regardless of cost.

Dogs Health Problems

When Tasha, my one- year old Labrador, first came down with colds, I was almost frantic. I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t know how to assess if her ailment was already at its worst. My daughter kept telling me Tasha kept to herself and preferred to stay in bed for most of the day. And so we kept a close watch during the first night, keeping her warm with a blanket and setting clean water nearby.

A good friend also informed me to keep giving Tasha fluids and feed her milk whenever she would feel like eating something. This would enable her to regain her health and energy. True enough, Tasha felt way better when morning came. But just to make sure, we paid a visit to her veterinarian and asked for some vitamins that she could take.
