Obama Funding Nets Higher Ed for Moms
Returning to school might be a dream for some mothers who had to give up education when they got married and started a family, but they can make it come true due to government funding released by President Barack Obama . The funding is aimed at getting these women education so that they can enter the work field in time.
Time and money are the two key reasons moms tend to not go back to school. The Pell Grant offered by Obama can negate both of those factors. Since it is a grant, it does not have to be paid back. Also, there are more online schools nowadays so the degree can be earned from the convenience of home, which frees up time that would be spent on the commute to and from school. There also are online forums that give these women the support they need to stay on track.
If you find you do not qualify for the Pell grant, which is aimed at those who have a low income, there are many other grants and other scholarships available. All you need to do is a little research on the Internet to find them. You can even check your local library. They are good resource for grants, and you might find one that is specifically aimed at you. One thing you need to do to get started is to complete the FAFSA form. You can do so online and have it submitted. If you still need motivation, know that grants are available in different categories, like for people in the military, race, religion, sex and of course mothers who are looking to go back to school.
